El Mezcal in Wausau

Authentic Mexican cuisine that is very affordable. Speaking Spanish is an asset as some staff have a very limited English vocabulary. The staff is always friendly and service is fast. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my food. It is often there in well under 10. The juevos chorizo is absolutely amazing

If you like Mexican food... DON'T miss out on this place. $7.50 Margarita with Grand Manier and Tequila Gold is amazing!!!!! CARNITA'S.... YUMMM!!!

I've eaten here probably 20 times and I have never had bad food or service. The food is always top shelf and the staff is absolutely awesome. There is no waiting for anything even when they're busy. Highly recommend - you will enjoy a visit here.

This was a great be experience. Service was fast and the food was delicious. Each serving was enough for two or three people unless they're lumberjacks just off work.

Very good food with very nice people! We had a shrimp quesadilla and a chicken bacon quesadilla(new item) and they were both delicious and came out quick!! We love their chips and salsa! Our server jaime was very nice and checked back multiple times to refill our salsa,drinks and check on how the food was.

Fast, friendly service. Meals delivered quickly and always delicious! Love the chip to get started but be careful, they're addiction and can fill you up before the meal! Save room for churros!

Good chips and salsa. Serve Pepsi products (so that's good if you're a Dew fan). Had the taco salad this time around, was very good. Love El Mezcal, it's worth the trip if you like Mexican food. Great service, food usually comes out insanely quick. Clean establishment. Clean bathrooms.

It was really disappointing the staff were really nice but my food didn’t taste good, there was hair in one plate and the beef tasted weird I don’t think I’ll be coming back

The past three times we've tried to call the phone rings for about a minute and then a message comes across saying "call ended". Other than that we love eating here!

Good food and great prices. I really enjoy the free chips and salsa. Queso sauce is very good. Portions are more than generous and food has always come quick and hot. I have had several of their combination plates, fajitas, tacos, all good. Service has always been very good. I have had better Mexican food, but at a higher price for sure. They offer good quality food and selection, great service, enough food for two meals, great value, and a nice atmosphere. Plenty of tvs to watch too. I definately recommend.

We LOVE the food! But we are sad they do not offer curbside despite the google profile saying they do. I guess we will have to wait until we feel it’s safe to dine in.

A decent restaurant to go to. They serve good food and the staff is a lot of fun. They serve their own brand of tequila which they will let you sample if you ask. This restaurant is also conveniently located. You do not have to worry about making a reservation here, and if you want you can call ahead and get an order to go. The food is always hot and fresh.

We arrived at this restaurant for dinner. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we felt good. The meal was tasty. We loved this place very much and we will visit this place again. Recommended.

Food is great. Staff is usually always very friendly and outgoing. Not a fan of the parking lot though ... especially when it’s busy.

We were going to place a large order for work. I was responsible for calling the order in. Everyone in the office went off of the menu in the facebook page for the Wausau location. It took you to a link for Marshfield/Wausau/Rapids menu. When I called the order in and started naming what they wanted, the person on the phone said they didn’t have it. It was like this for every item I named. I explained that as of April 8th, Wausau El Mezcal shared this menu on fb and that was where we got the order from. The man proceeded to tell me how he was there since 2002 (who cares) and kept cutting me off. Regardless if it wasn’t the right menu, he blamed me for using what they posted!? He refused to let me speak and said I was not able to file a complaint and he was refusing service to me. I called back a few times to proceed with a complaint and was hung up on multiple times. He also used harsh, aggressive language. I will never be returning. We went down the road to La Taqueria
